It’s never to late to break free from the programming we’ve inherited from our communities, culture, and systems; we can begin again…
My name is Hsiao-Yen (𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘥 ‘𝘴𝘩ā𝘰-𝘺𝘦𝘯’) and I’m here to walk beside you as we both break free from the ideologies, cultures, and institutions, that for too long, we’ve contorted lives and beings around. Coming from a long and painful past of pleasing (enmeshment and parentification in childhood, over-achieving perfectionism in adolescence, bullying induced “pick me” chameleoning turned “good girl” religious purity-striving in my teens, and codependence and narcissistic abuse in young adulthood), I’ve made it my mission a neurodivergent trauma survivor to document not only my “afters” but the messy in-betweens of my own self-reclamation process. Sharing my death-rebirth journey online with my community of 30k+ since 2015 through writing and media production, and working as a trauma-informed peer-mentor and facilitator since 2016, it’s been my greatest fulfillment in this life to reclaim the true self beneath my own masks, so that others can feel permission to do the same.
